Geeks Are Assimilating Talk Radio

San Antonio is known for many things including the rodeo, a two week fiesta, and the five-time NBA Champion Spurs.

Tonight, the 7th largest city in the USA is going geek.

AM930 KLUP talk radio features talk show hosts such as Michael Medved, Larry Elder, and Dennis Prager; all of whom boast millions of listeners. At 11pm (CST), the station will add “Get Your Geek On” to their lineup.

David Gremillion, former podcast host, will take to the airwaves to talk about all things geeky including news from Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, Marvel, and Video Gaming.

“The podcast was an absolute blast,” Gremillion says. “We had guests like James Arnold Taylor, Jake Lloyd, and Vanessa Marshall, just to name a few, and that was just from a show I did in my dining room. Now? Now we’re taking this to a whole new level. A studio, sound engineer, weekly production meetings, professional equipment. It’s legit talk radio!”

There’s no doubt that geeky pop culture is now solidly in the mainstream. David feels that the time for podcasts to evolve is now.

“You see investment bankers wearing Avengers ties to the office, Star Trek swimsuits are around pools and beaches, why not have an actual talk radio show? I’m not saying I’m Rush Limbaugh or Jim Rome, but if people can spend three hours talking about sports, why not have a show that covers the VAST world of the geek?”

The show will stream live to anyone who wants to listen on their website, will have their own podcast, and be on iheart radio. In addition, Dave promises a surprise.

“To help get the show going, we set up a Patreon account. For anyone who donates, even at the smallest level, they get access to a special segment called ‘Dave Unplugged’. I’ll rant, I’ll rave, but it’s just for Patreon contributors, no one else.”

San Antonio radio is going geeky on Saturday night with Dave Gremillion at the helm.
