“Force Awakens” Deleted Scene to Include Skywalker/Vader Duel?
On November 15th, fans will once again flock to their stores to get their hands on the long-awaited 3D Blu-Ray copy of the record-breaking Star Wars movie entitled “The Force Awakens”. The edition boasts extras including deleted scenes, showing fans what was left on the cutting room floor.
However, a credible source close to the project revealed tonight at the Alamo City Comic Con that one of the scenes might include something to whet the appetite of the die-hard fans even more.
“When Rey has her flashback, after grabbing the lightsaber,” he explains. “She had one where she’s in Cloud City, running down a dark hallway. She was supposed to come to this cliff, look down 50 feet, and see a re-creation of the duel Luke (Skywalker) has with Vader. Shot by shot, including the arm being cut off.”
When asked for justification as to why such an intriguing shot wasn’t put in the film, he shrugged. “I don’t know, but it was a great shot.”
When asked if this will, guaranteed, be in the list of deleted scenes, he shrugged again. “I wasn’t in editing, but I hope it is. I really do.”
This was mentioned before as strictly rumor, enhanced by the novel “Rey’s Story”, but this injects new life into hope for all fans that this truly epic scene will see the light of day.
